What is Lip Blushing?

Wanting to wake up with full, lively lips every day? Then, lip blushing is the service for you! Lip blushing is a permanent makeup procedure that lightly tints the lip and gives the lip a fuller appearance. Here’s some more information on the lip blushing procedure and its healing process.

Procedure

Like other permanent makeup procedures, lip blushing is a semi-permanent tattoo. The technique is done by adding pigment to your lips and along the lip line to enhance its color and appearance. However, it is not similar to lip fillers or injections that are put into your lips since it is superficial tattooing.

Pigments from the ink are deposited along the sides and outline of your lip to enhance its shape. Then, the actual lip is shaded with the ink. After the procedure, your lips may swell, appear red, and possibly bruise. Finally, you will receive aftercare instructions to follow while your lips heal. Lip blushing results can last up to two years but it is important to book touch-ups to maintain the lip color and appearance you prefer. 

Healing Process

The healing process lasts up to 3-4 weeks. Your lips will experience scabbing and flaking making the color appear differently during the healing process. Up to 2-4 weeks after the initial scabbing, the color will settle and your lips will display their true lip blush color but about 40-50% of the color chosen at your initial appointment. 

The aftercare instructions you receive will aid you in your healing process. We ask you to keep your lips moisturized and to be careful with everyday things like brushing your teeth, eating, and drinking.
